Vivo is gearing up to introduce the Vivo X Fold 3 foldable phone series in the Chinese market next March. The X Fold 3 series consists of two models, namely the Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro. Recently, technology leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) posted on Weibo, unveiling key details about the main camera specifications of the X Fold 3 series.

Main Camera Highlights of Vivo X Fold 3 Series

As reported by Gizmochina, DCS’s post discussed the foldable phone, expected to have a slim and lightweight form factor, likely representing the Vivo X Fold 3 series. DCS disclosed that the phone would feature the OmniVision OV50H main camera and a periscope telephoto lens.

Earlier reports indicated that the standard version of the Vivo X Fold 3 would not include a periscope telephoto lens. Therefore, this leaked information appears to be linked to the Vivo X Fold 3, which, according to other leaks, might come equipped with a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.

Vivo has previously employed the OV50H as the main camera in the iQOO 12 and 12 Pro. There’s a possibility that the X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro will share the same primary camera.

The Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets, respectively. Speculations suggest that the X Fold 3 might lack features such as an in-screen ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and wireless charging, reportedly available on the Pro model. It’s likely that the X Fold 3 will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Vivo’s upcoming launch event in March for the Chinese market is also anticipated to unveil the arrival of the Vivo Pad 3 tablet and Vivo X100s smartphone.
